Leakage is all precipitation, leaking through the disposed layer of waste. Contrary to a waste dump, the leakage from the landfill "Daibe" does not reach the soil and ground water, but is collected and stored in a specially constructed pool, from where it goes to the reverse osmosis leakage treatment facility.
The plant provides treatment of the polluted water to a degree of distilled water. The polluted material is returned to the disposal repository.
The plant was purchased within the framework of a project co-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union. Read more about the project here.
